WSRCC Wins!

Olympia – The Washington State Residential Care Council of Adult Family Homes (WSRCC) announced today that they have won the collective bargaining election and will be the collective bargaining representative for the adult family home providers. The law firm hired by the association will be in contact with the Governor’s office in order to set the schedule for the collective bargaining meetings. All adult family home providers are welcome to participate in the collective bargaining process and determining which topics will be priorities on the agenda.

The WSRCC of Adult Family Homes and the Washington Federation of State employees both were working to be the representative; however the final election tally placed WSRCC winning by nearly 100 votes. The Public Employee Regulatory Commission finalized and certified the election today. There is a 7 day period that would allow for any procedural objections; however, as the meeting closed today, Megan Park, representative for the WFSE conceded the election and offered the WSRCC representatives, “Good luck” as the bargaining begins.

The officers and delegates of WSRCC wish to thank all of the volunteers that spent an extraordinary amount of time and effort in the collective win. Now is the time to offer our hand to all providers and ensure that every home is properly represented at the bargaining table.
