Unmasking the Secrets

OVERVIEW:

So often adult family home providers and caregivers can get lost in the daily routines of caring for their residents, managing their business, and trying to maintain a family life. 

 

The goal of WSRCC’s 11th Annual Conference – “Unmasking the Secrets for a Better Business” is to offer the environment to learn from nationally recognized speakers; to have a chance to meet and network with individuals who share the same concerns; and to have fun doing both!

 

This has been a challenging and productive past year for all of us. Please join us and give yourself the opportunity to relax, learn and laugh. You deserve it!

 

THREE LEARNING TRACKS:

This year's conference has been expanded to three different learning tracks: Business Needs; Specialty Needs (Dementia, Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities); and General Care-giving Needs.

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

We are very excited to have Dr. Pat Schwab as this years keynote speaker. Dr. Schwab holds academic degrees in History, Student Personnel, and Administration. She also holds the highest earned designation awarded by the National Speakers Association, the CSP, or Certified Professional Speaker. Dr. Schwab’s major interest has always been staff training and development. Her doctoral thesis, on team building, was titled: “People Support What They Help Create” She is a firm believer in taking humor seriously.

Dr. Schwab combines years of hands-on management, teaching and training with 11 years of working as a full time professional speaker in Europe, Canada, and the USA. Her programs are packed with humor, insight, and practical tips for managing people, coping with change, and enriching work and home life.

She is the right person for us – at the right time!

 

FACULTY:

Again this year we are very pleased and proud that the University of Washington, North West Geriatric Education Center is providing most of our presenters. This allows us access to the experts in our fields of interest.

 

MONDAY NIGHT BANQUET:

Please join us for the Monday night banquet (extra charge for banquet). This is another wonderful opportunity to share in fun and meet your fellow caregivers. You need a Mardi Gras mask to join in the festivities!! Relax – hide behind a mask – and have an enjoyable evening!!  Best mask wins a great prize!

 

AUCTION:

Every year WSRCC has held an auction at the conference. The purpose of the auction is to support our legislative fund. This year we have changed the time of the auction to the lunch period on the second day. Our hope is for more people to enjoy the auction and to increase the monies in our fund! You will get an auction paddle and list of items to be auctioned in your bag that you receive at registration. Please view the items to be auctioned that are placed around the class room areas. You will have a full day to make up your mind on what you can not live without! Please relax, have fun, and spend money!
